Army organizes music fest ‘Son-et-Lumiere’ at Parihaspora

Srinagar: Son-et-Lumiere, a three-day music fest was organised by Army in the picturesque locals of Parihaspora from Sep 24 to Sep 26, said PRO (Defence) Srinagar.

“The event showcased the extraordinary local singing talents like Abid Aly, Waqar Khan and Sazid Sheikh. Famous sufi singer, Shafi Sopori too enthralled the public with this unique sufiyana andaz,” the PRO said.

“Altamash Faridi of Bollywood fame mesmerised the audience with his soulful singing. His performance in Kashmir is encouraging for the local public who enjoyed every bit of the musical fest which presented the fusion of Sufi, Folk and Bollywood music,” he said.

“Senior military, civil and Police dignitaries also graced the occasion. The local students appreciated the performances of the singers and demanded more such events in future. It not only provided opportunity to local talent but also lightened the atmosphere. The Locals have requested the Army and the civil administration to organize more such events in the Valley on regular basis,” he added.
