Div Admin Kmr organizes CAB, vaccine sensitization prog for media persons, others

Srinagar: Divisional Administration Kashmir on Saturday organized a sensitization program on Covid-19 Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) and vaccination for the media fraternity, RJs and Anchors.

The programme was aimed to Covid related information shall be disseminated and brought to every household to help administration in bringing behavioural change in the community.

Among other present were, Director General Family Welfare, MCH &Immunization, Dr. Saleem ul Rehman, Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr. Mustaq Ahmad Rather, Epidemiologist/SSO KASHMIR, Dr. Talat jabeen; Assist. Director FW Dr. Masrat, doctors and prominent Radio Jokeys, Journalists and Anchors.

DG Saleem ur Rehman while emphasizing on the speeding up of vaccination process said that each person needs to get vaccinated to remain safe from covid infection. Besides, he said that we need to keep an eye on the indicators like morality, hospitalization and positive rate of cases to avert or delay possible third wave.

On the occasion, Director HSK called RJs, Journalists and Anchors as voice of the government and requested them to play consistent positive role in educating people about CAB besides asked them to disseminate information from authentic sources and help in dispelling fake news. He further asked them that as social influencers with huge fan following and reach to public they should lend help to government in the mitigation of covid spread by using their channels of communication and social media.

While acknowledging their indispensable role in creation of awareness among common people regarding covid guidelines, he enjoined on them to use their influence and voice to encourage people to get vaccinated besides help in dispelling various myths regarding vaccination in society.

Meanwhile, Dr Umar Nazir and Dr Rouf, Public health specialists of DCCRK gave detailed presentations through which both of them brought the attention of participants towards several issues and covid appropriate behavior and how to increase the pace of vaccination in unvaccinated populations.

Later, an interactive session was held during which participants raised different queries which were addressed by the experts present in the programme to clear the confusion.

Furthermore, participants took pledge to follow guidelines protocol all the time and play a sensible role as the responsible citizens.
