It said during the meeting, Secretary NFCH said that the organization is providing financial assistance to the children of age below 25 years and belonging to the family with income less than Rs two lakh per annum affected by militancy and communalism.

He said that there are 1771 children eligible to avail the assistance from NFCH. However, he said that more than 50 percent of the eligible children from J&K are missing from the enrolment list and enjoined upon DCs and DSWOs to conduct surveys and identify the eligible children. He said these children are vulnerable and need to be taken care of and properly guided.

He also asked DCs and DSWOs to identify those victim children who are pursuing different professions so that they will be facilitated and presented as role models for those affected children who are still obtaining education.

Pant asked DSWOs to open Aadhar linked bank accounts of victim children so the amount of financial assistance shall be directly transferred to them.

He said they are organizing several programmes for the children in different states and national capital for their career counseling and skill development  and asked officers to select five students both boys and girls.

During the programmes these children will also meet top dignitaries including President, Vice-President, Prime Minister, Home Minister and others.

Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir on the occasion stressed on the officers to prepare the list of eligible children on the priority basis so the financial assistance shall be provided to them.

DG Social Welfare Department Kashmir on the occasion assured the meeting that a survey will be conducted and the actual status of the victim students in schools will be compiled and the reason for drop-out of such students will also be ascertained.
