Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav: SDRF, LAWDA launch cleanliness drive in Dal Lake

Srinagar: As part of “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav” campaign, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Kashmir in collaboration with Lakes And Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) Srinagar, today launched a one-month-long cleanliness drive in Dal Lake area covering 2.5 square kilometer.

Nearly, 100 SDRF personnel and 10 motorboats have been deployed for the successful conduct of this ambitious drive.

DGP and Commandant General HG/CD & SDRF, V K Singh, along with SSP, Commandant SDRF First Battalion Srinagar, Haseeb-Ur-Rehman, visited Dal Lake to supervise the cleanliness drive.

Officers from LAWDA, Executive Engineer and Assistant Executive Engineer LAWDA were present.

The joint team took an extensive tour of the Lake and had a detailed review of several works being executed in the lake including uprooting of water lilly and de-weeding.

DGP assured full support and cooperation to LAWDA for complete cleaning of world-famous Dal Lake.
