Srinagar: The Army on Monday organized a medical camp and dental camp at Sahi Memorial Hospital Machhal in coordination with the civil administration.

“Machhal is a remote sector in the Northern part of Kupwara District of Kashmir. Sarpanches and residents from border villages of Machhal had approached the Army Camp located at Thalli highlighting requirement of medical and dental care for all locals, especially the senior citizens, children and women of these villages,” said PRO (Defence) Srinagar.

“The aim of the camps was to address the basic medical and dental needs of the people from these villages. The camps were widely advertised in local groups, media and through announcements for a week prior to their conduct,” the PRO said.

“Five Army Doctors, including a Dentist, attended to the people. More than 250 people of adjoining villages visited the Medical Camp, and more than 100 people visited the Dental Camp,” said Col Emron Musavi

“Medical and dental examinations were conducted and free medicines were distributed to the people and classes were also conducted on nutrition deficiencies in children and women and on dental care. People were also educated on COVID-19. The villagers appreciated the efforts of Indian Army,” he said.
