Srinagar: Director General Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Chandrajit Banerjee, on Tuesday said that online portal of Central Sector Scheme will change industrial landscape of J&K.

In a statement issued here, Banerjee said: “The launch of the online portal of Central Sector Scheme for industrial development of Jammu & Kashmir by Home Minister, Amit Shah will go a long way in changing the industrial landscape of J&K.”

“It will greatly ease the environment for doing business in J&K by enabling registration of units and providing all details of the new Industrial Policy including incentives, Industrial Estates, land availability and other relevant information,” said Banerjee.

“The Government is targeting investment worth Rs 50,000 crore by March 2022 in Jammu & Kashmir, which is possible given the local capabilities. We would connect with global businesses and the investor community to partner with government to facilitate and attract investments into the UT,” he said.

“CII’s earlier experience of road shows in the UT showed a lot of interest from corporate to invest across sectors and we believe that the portal would help entrepreneurs to know more about the opportunities and facilitate such investments,” he added.
