Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 83 fresh COVID-19 cases and one fatality on Tuesday, pushing the union territory’s cumulative infection tally to 3,23,582 and its death toll 4,399, officials said.

Of the fresh cases, 45 were from Kashmir and 38 from the Jammu division, they said.

The officials said Srinagar district recorded the highest number of 17 new cases, followed by Jammu with nine while the one Covid death was also reported from Jammu division

Moreover, 153 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals, including 95 from Kashmir and 58 from Jammu division, officials said, adding that so far 99.73 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across the Jammu and Kashmir.

They also said there were 42 confirmed cases of Mucormycosis (black fungus) in the union territory.

According to the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus (COVID-19), out of 3,23,582 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 1,158 positive cases across the UT, while as 3,18,025 persons have recovered and 4,399 have died — 2,240 in Kashmir and 2,159 in Jammu division.

The bulletin further said that out of 1,26,59,292 test results available, 1,23,35,710 samples have tested as negative till today.

It also said that till date 30,74,240 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 9,375 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by the government, 1,158 in isolation and 4,02,282 in home surveillance while 26,57,026 persons have completed their surveillance period.
