Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President and Member of Parliament from Srinagar, Dr Farooq Abdullah, and Vice President, Omar Abdullah, on Saturday unequivocally condemned the killing of a 2-year-old child in a grenade attack on BJP leader Jasbir Singh’s house in Rajouri.

Expressing sympathies with the bereaved, Dr Farooq said, “I condemn the attack in strongest possible terms. Violence in all its forms and manifestations brings countless miseries to people. I express my unison within the bereaved family; pray for strength to bear this inconsolable loss and fast recovery to all the others who have sustained injuries in this despicable act of violence.”

While denouncing the attack Omar Abdullah said, “I condemn the heinous and despicable act that shows contempt for innocent lives. The vicious circle of violence must stop now. The perpetrators of the attack must be held accountable and be brought to justice.”

Meanwhile, Party General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Add. General Secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Provincial President Jammu Devender Singh Rana, Senior leaders Sajad Ahmed Kitchloo, Khalid Najeeb Suharwardy, Javed Rana, Aijaz Jan, and others also condemned the attack in unequivocal terms and sought enquiry into the incident. The functionaries expressed unison with the kith and kin of the victims praying for peace to the deceased minor and speedy recovery to the injured.
