Ganderbal: A six-year-old boy died after he drowned in Sindh stream while taking a bath in the in Harran area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Thursday.
Reports said that Anas Ahmad, son of Fayaz Ahmad Shiekh of Harran Ganderbal, was bathing in the stream with his friends when he drowned.
On seeing Anas drowning, his friends raised alarm following which a rescue operation was launched by locals, who were later joined by a SDRF team and police.
A police official said the boy’s body was retrieved from the stream and shifted to the hospital, however, the minor was declared brought dead at the hospital.
The body was later handed over to the family after medico-legal formalities, added the official.
