Srinagar: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan, today chaired the 78th Board of Directors meeting of Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development Corporation Limited at Civil Secretariat Srinagar.

The BoD meeting was attended by Principal Secretary PDD Rohit Kansal, Secretary Science and Technology Alok Kumar, Managing Director JKSPDC Raja Yaqoob Farooq,  Executive Director Electric JKSPDC, FA &CAO, JKSPDC Santosh Kumari, Sunil Gupta Company Secretary JKSPDC.

Joint Secretary, Ministry of Power GoI Ghanshyam Prasad, Director (HPP&I) Central Electricity Authority, Manoj Tripathi and other officers attended the meeting through video conferencing.

The meeting held threadbare discussion on the appointment of Managing Director of JKSPDC, works program for the year 2021-22, Sale of Power of BHEP, Construction of corporate office at Rajbagh Srinagar, Extension of Time for EPC Contract and PMC for Implementation of 37.5MW Parnai HEP, electrification of 54 un-electrified villages through off grid mode (Solar Standalone System). The Board of Directors (BoD) consented for an ambitious working plan for the year 2020-21 for Creation, Renovation and Maintenance of assets of the Corporation.

The meeting also discussed issues pertaining to 900 MW Baglihar HEP, status update of 930 MW Kirthai-II HE, regularization of engineering and geological staff in JKSPDC among other issues.

Advisor Baseer Khan while chairing the meeting directed the officers of JKSPDC to complete all the projects within the stipulated timelines and said that no extension will be granted as far as timelines are concerned. He also said that regular monitoring of works should be done on regular basis for efficient management and delivery of services.

The Advisor further directed the officers to fix realistic timelines for the completion of the projects and take technical advice from experts wherever required. He also directed the officers to expedite the construction of corporate office at Rajbagh Srinagar on modern lines with all the facilities in place.

The BoD meeting informed that the works Program has been formulated for executing the works during the year 2021-22. The works program for the current year has been prepared after taking proposals from the concerned Chief Engineers and Chief Project Engineers of the Corporation.

The meeting also proposed capital and operation and Maintenance works to the tune of Rs 1000.59 Crores. Out of this the provision for work done liabilities is Rs 2257.80 lacs, spill over is Rs 65739.56 lacs and for new works the provision is Rs 32061.93 lacs.

The ongoing Hydro Electric Projects (HEP) for which funds have been proposed in this work plan include Parnai HEP, Sawalkote HEP including roads, 12 MW Karnah (PMDP).

Further, an amount of Rs. 15798 lacs has been proposed for new projects to be taken in hand in the current work plan. These include New Ganderbal HEP (8314 lacs), Kirthai-I HEP (Rs 4759.95), Kirthai-II HEP (5.16 lacs), Lower Kalnai HEP (1718.22 lacs), Mohura HEP (100 lacs). The plan has also kept an amount of Rs 23997 lacs for meeting the operation & maintenance (O&M) costs of its already created assets and projects.

The BoD also discussed in detail the Action Taken Report on the decisions taken by Board Of directors in its 77th meeting.
