Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 108 fresh COVID-19 cases on Monday, taking the tally to 3,22,658, while one fresh death pushed the toll to 4,390, officials said.

Out of the fresh cases, 65 were from the Kashmir Valley and 43 from the Jammu division of the union territory, they said.

The officials said Srinagar district recorded the highest number of 20 cases, followed by 17 in Baramulla district.

The death toll in the union territory due to the pandemic was 4,390 as one fresh death was reported from the Jammu region in the past 24 hours.

Moreover, 196 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 142 from Kashmir and 54 from Jammu division during this period, they said.

Officials also said so far 99.59 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across the Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, the officials said there were 37 confirmed cases of mucormycosis or black fungus in the union territory as no fresh cases were reported since the last evening.

According to the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus (COVID -19), out of 3,22,658 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 1,311 positive cases across the UT, while 3,16,957 persons have recovered and 4,390 have died – 2,239 in Kashmir and 2,151 in Jammu division.
