Srinagar: Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Monday urged the J&K government to ensure all necessary civic amenities across Jammu and Kashmir especially in Shia-dominated areas in view of the month of Muharram.

In a statement issued here, Bukhari said the administration must take all measures to provide uninterrupted electricity, drinking water besides sanitation facilities to the people.

“Both the divisional administrations must take a holistic review of the preparations over the requisite arrangements in the Shia dominated localities for the smooth observance of this holy month and ensure the mourners are not subjected to any kind of inconvenience,” he said.

Bukhari said the government must ensure fumigation of all Imambaras and provide free of cost face masks and hand sanitizers to the devotees in view of the prevailing situation that emerged due to the Covid-19 pandemic

“The strict implementation of social and health protocols under Covid-19 SOP’s through the religious heads at Imambaras remains imperative, so as to stop the vicious spread of this contagion. All the departments must work in tandem in order to avoid any inconvenience to the mourners,” he added.
