J&K records 144 fresh Covid cases, no new death

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 144 fresh cases of coronavirus on Friday, taking the infection tally to 3,22,286 while the death toll remained at 4,386 as no new fatality was reported in the last 24 hours, officials said.

Out of the fresh cases, 94 were from Kashmir division and 50 from the Jammu division of the Union Territory, the officials said.

Srinagar district recorded the highest number of 33 cases followed by 15 each in Jammu and Doda districts.

The death toll due to the pandemic was 4,386 as no fresh fatality was reported in the past 24 hours.

Moreover, 98 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 69 from Kashmir and 29 from Jammu division.

Meanwhile, the officials said there were 37 confirmed cases of black fungus in the Union Territory as no fresh case was reported since last evening.

Besides this, 99.54 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across the Jammu and Kashmir so far, they said.

According to the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus (COVID-19), out of 3,22,286 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 1,404 are active positive cases in the UT, while as 3,16,496  persons have recovered and 4,386 have died – 2,238 in Kashmir and 2,148 in Jammu division.
