Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 149 new cases of coronavirus on Wednesday, taking the infection tally to 3,22,014 while the death toll reached 4,385 as one more fatality was recorded in the last 24 hours, officials said.

Of the fresh cases, 100 were from Kashmir and 49 were from the Jammu division of the union territory while the lone death was reported from the Valley, the officials said.

They said Srinagar district recorded the highest number of 34 new cases followed by 17 each in Baramulla and Bandipora districts.

Moreover, 127 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 84 from Kashmir and 43 from Jammu division during the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, there were 35 confirmed cases of Mucormycosis (black fungus) in the union territory as no fresh case was reported since Tuesday evening, officials said.

So far 99.51 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across the Jammu and Kashmir, they said.

According to the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus (COVID-19), out of 3,22,014 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 1,314 are active positive cases across the UT, while as 3,16,315 persons have recovered and 4,385 have died – 2,238 in Kashmir and 2,147 in Jammu division.
