4 CRPF personnel, civilian injured in grenade attack in Baramulla

Baramulla: Four CRPF personnel including an Assistant Sub-Inspector and a civilian were injured after suspected militants hurled a grenade on the paramilitary party deployed at Khanpora bridge in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday.

A senior police officer said that militants attacked patrolling party of 53 Bn Central Reserve Police Force by lobbing a grenade towards it at Khanpora bridge. Four CRPF personnel and a civilian received splinter injuries in the attack and were shifted to nearby hospital for treatment.

Official sources identified injured CRPF personnel as ASI Kisku (Belt no. 931171171), Constable Dayananad Kumar (Belt no. 125263549), Kamlesh Singh (Belt no. 125263578) and Gautam Mandal (Belt no.  065103932). The injured civilian was identified as Bashir Ahmad.

Meanwhile whole area was cordoned off to nab the attackers, they said.
