Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 102 fresh coronavirus cases and one death, taking the number of infections and fatalities to 3,20,759 and 4,375 respectively, officials said.

Out of the fresh cases, 82 were from Kashmir Valley and 20 were from the Jammu division of the union territory, they said.

Srinagar recorded the highest number of cases at 40, followed by 13 in Baramulla district.

The number of active (positive) cases dropped to 1,200 in the UT as cumulatively 3,15,184 patients have recovered from the infection so far, including 189 in the past 24 hours – 133 from Kashmir and 56 from the Jammu division, officials said.

They also informed that the lone COVID-death in the past 24 hours was reported from Jammu.

So far 99.35 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across the Jammu and Kashmir, the officials said.

Meanwhile, there were 35 confirmed cases of Mucormycosis (black fungus).

According to the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus (COVID-19), out of 3,20,759 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, 4375 patients have died – 2,236 in Kashmir and 2,139 in Jammu division.
