J&K records 146 new Covid cases, 1 death

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 146 fresh coronavirus cases and one death on Sunday, taking the number of infections and fatalities to 3,19,901 and 4,364 respectively, officials said.

Out of the fresh cases, 88 were from Kashmir and 58 from Jammu division, they said.

Srinagar district recorded the highest number of cases at 27, followed by 16 in Jammu, while the single death reported today was from the Kashmir Valley, they added.

They also said 243 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged from various hospitals including 151 from Kashmir and 92 from Jammu division during past 24 hours.

Besides, 99.19 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across the Jammu and Kashmir so far, they said.

There were 34 confirmed cases of Mucormycosis (black fungus) in the union territory as one fresh case was reported in the last 24 hours.

According to the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus (Covid-19), out of 3,19,901 positive cases recorded cumulatively thus far, currently there are 1,919 are active positive in J&K,  while as 3,13,618 persons have recovered and 4,364 have died – 2,232 in Kashmir and 2,132 in Jammu division.

The bulletin further said that out of 1,10,27,332 test results available, 1,07,07,431 samples have tested negative till today.

Till date 26,23,064 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 9,294 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by the government, 1,919 in isolation and 3,04,731 in home surveillance while as 23,02,756 persons have completed their surveillance period, the bulletin informed.
