SRINAGAR: Secretary in Skill Development Department and Director Craft Development Institute Srinagar, Nazim Zai Khan and Director, National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL), New Delhi, Professor Akeel Ahmad, today signed a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) regarding finalization of execution of National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL) Scheme Certificate Course in Paper Machie in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The scheme is not only promoting the Urdu language but also creating skilled workforce in the country and contributing its efforts towards achieving Center government’s objective of promoting Skill Development Mission.

Research Officer, NCPUL, S M Khurram, Assistant Director, NCPUL, Shama Kausar Yazdani, Faculty CDI, Srinagar, Hina Qazi and Research Assistant, NCPUL, New Delhi, Afzal Khan were present on the occasion.

The signing of this SOP is one step forward towards promotion of Urdu language through handicraft, increasing awareness, knowledge, skill and employability of local youth with mutual understanding of both the Institutions. The SOP is significant for launching “Six months certificate course in Paper Mache” at three training locations under NCPUL scheme, a government communiqué said.
