The minority functionaries also shared thoughts with the Vice President about various activities of the minority cell on the occasion.

Interacting with the delegation, Omar said, “Kashmiri Pandit brethren are an essential element of our cultural milieu and that the need of the hour calls for defeating the vested interests that are hell-bent to fashion a wedge between the two communities,” he said.

He added that notwithstanding the turbulence of past decades, the brotherhood and camaraderie between the two communities stand as strong as it had been for decades. “Our party, on account of our inclusive vision of Jammu and Kashmir will make all possible efforts to further strengthen the equation between the two communities, which has all along been a scorn in the eyes of various vested interests.”

“We have worked for the protection of the vital interests of the community both when in power or outside without fanfare and slogan mongering. We will indeed perk up our efforts for the early return of pandits back to the valley and ensuring the community their due rights in employment. We will step up our efforts to materialize the dream of the early return of the community back to Kashmir with dignity,” he said.

Omar also ensured the minority wing leaders all the support in their efforts to broaden the base of the party within the community. He added that the need of hour calls for working unitedly above narrow regional and religious biases to put Jammu and Kashmir on the path of progress.

The delegation consisted of Amit Koul, TK Koul, Rohit Bhat, Ajay Raina, PL Talashi, Bal Krishan Bhat, Krishan Ji Koul, and Ak Bhat.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Chairman District council Budgam Choudhary Nazir Ahmed Jahara today presented a vote of no confidence motion against the incumbent Chairman DDC Budgam Nazir Ahmed Khan.

The Memorandum of no confidence motion which was presented to the District election officer (DC Budgam) was duly signed by 10 DDC members.

The DDC members and the deputy chairperson expressed hope that the concerned DC will take required steps in sync with the guidelines governing the constitution and Working of the DC council.
