Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday recorded 224 fresh Covid cases, which pushed the tally to 3,18,693, while one death took the toll to 4,357, officials said.

Out of the fresh cases, 150 were from Kashmir and 74 were from the Jammu division of the union territory, they said.

Srinagar district recorded the highest 53 cases while Pulwama and Doda districts recorded 23 cases each, they said.

The death toll in Jammu and Kashmir due to the coronavirus rose to 4,357 as one patient died in Kashmir in the past 24 hours, they said.

Moreover, 349 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged from various hospitals including 227 from Kashmir and 122 from Jammu division, during this period.

Meanwhile, the officials said, there were 31 confirmed cases of Mucormycosis (black fungus) in the union territory as no fresh case was reported since last evening.

They also said 97.95 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across the Jammu and Kashmir so far.

According to the daily media bulletin on novel Coronavirus (Covid-19), out of 3,18,693 positive cases cumulatively recorded so far,  currently there are 3,002 are active positive cases across J&K while as 3,11,334 have recovered and 4,357 have died – 2,231 in Kashmir and 2,126 in Jammu division.

The bulletin further said that out of 1,06,21,241 test results available, 1,03,02,548 samples have tested negative till today.

Till date 25,50,294 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 9,044 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by the government, 3,002 in isolation and 2,74,335 in home surveillance while as 22,59,556 persons have completed their surveillance period, the bulletin informed.
