J&K reports 262 new COVID-19 cases, 4 deaths

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported 262 new positive cases of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19),  in past twenty-four hours while four more lives were claimed by the discease during this period.

About the fresh positive cases, officials said 142 were reported in Kashmir, and 120 from Jammu division. With these cases, the cumulative total of infections in J&K recorded as of today stands at 3,18,023.

They also said four more patients succumbed to the COVID-19  — two each from Kashmr and Jammu divisions of the UT, while as 353 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals, including 217 from Kashmir and 136 from Jammu division during the past 24 hours.

They said so far 91.70 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across the Jammu and Kashmir.

One more confirmed case of Mucormycosis (black fungus) was also reported today, taking the total number of confirmed cases in J&K to 31.

According to the daily media bulletin on novel Coronavirus (Covid-19), out of 3,18,023 positive cases recorded cumulative so far, currently there are 3,344 are active positive cases across J&K,  while as 3,10,326 have recovered and 4,353 have died – 2,228 in Kashmir and  2,125 in Jammu division.
