Kulgam: Two unidentified militants have been killed in an encounter that started at Chimmer village of Noorabad hamlet of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district, officials said Wednesday.
An official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that earlier, a joint team of Police, army’s 09 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on a specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
He said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated triggering an encounter.
The official said that in the ensuing encounter two u identified militants have been killed, while the operation was going on.
Meanwhile, Kashmir Zone Police in a Tweet also confirmed that two unidentified militants have been killed and operation was going on.
