Choudhary Zulfikar Ali demands creation of Hill Development Council for Pirpanjal

Rajouri: Vice-President, Apni Party, and Former Minister, Choudhary Zulfikar Ali has demanded creation of Hill Development Council for Pirpanjal to overcome from the underdevelopment and political negligence.

In a statement issued to the press, Zulfikar Ali said that the twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch have remained neglected for decades with regard to development. The Former Minister said this during his visit to various areas of Darhal constituency.

In absence of basic amenities in rural areas of both the districts, he said the Hill Development Council should be created for the betterment of the people who suffered worsley.

“The Council must be created on the pattern of Leh and Kargil because of geographical disadvantages in Pir Panjal and harsh climatic conditions,” he said.

He said that the wars between India and Pakistan and incidents of ceasefire violations have created an atmosphere of fear-psychosis among the people living along the Line of Control.

“If the Council is created, it would ensure overall development by the local representatives and administration would be answerable to them,” he said.

He said that the people of these districts should be given their constitutional right by creating the Hill Development Council without further delay.

Meanwhile, he condoled the demise of Syed Peer Yaseen Shah, father of District President, Rajouri, Syed Manzoor Hussain Shah.

Expressing solidarity with the bereaved family members, he prayed for the peace of the departed soul and courage to the family members of the deceased person.
