COVID-19: Ladakh records more recoveries, active cases dip

Leh: Ladakh has recorded over 97 percent of recoveries out of the total 19,871 COVID-19 cases with 38 people discharged in the union territory during the past 24 hours, officials said on Wednesday.

As many as 19,309 people have been cured till now, they said, adding while 15,988 out of 16,397 Covid patients were dicharged in Leh district, 3,321 out of 3,474 patients were discharged in Kargil.

With this, the total number of COVID-19 active cases in Ladakh has come down to 360 including 265 in Leh and 95 in Kargil, they added.

A total of 33 new cases were reported in the UT on Tuesday. Out of the total positive reports, 26 were reported in Leh and seven in Kargil, they said.

No death from Covid was reported in Ladakh on Tuesday, they added.

A total of 202 people have died due to coronavirus in the Union Territory so far which includes 144 in Leh and 58 in Kargil.
