Bandipora: A family allegedly attacked a medical team on Thursday in Zuban locality of Chuntimulla village in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district after they tried to persuade them to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

An official told the news agency (KNO), that the medical team while conducting a vaccination drive in the village came were attacked by a family.

He said that the medical team had done only six vaccines at the time of the incident and they had to return back till a police party was sent by the nearest police post.

A health worker who was present at the spot said that the villagers claimed that they were in good health and do not need any vaccine.

Meanwhile, a video of the incident has also gone viral on social media in which a family is seen attacking the health department team with stones.

When contacted deputy commissioner Bandipora, Dr Owais told KNO that an enquiry has been initiated into the incident and legal action will be taken against the involved persons and such incidents will never be tolerated.

Meanwhile, a police official while confirming the incident said that they have detained a person in this regard and further action has been taken up—(KNO)
