J&K records 1,184 fresh COVID-19 cases, 11 more deaths

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 1,184 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the infection tally to 3,02,671 on Tuesday, while 11 deaths pushed the toll to 4,101, officials said.

Out of the fresh cases, 763 were from the Kashmir Valley and 421 from the Jammu division, they said.

Srinagar district recorded the highest of 245 cases, followed by 109 in Baramulla district.

The death toll due to the disease rose to 4,101 as 11 more patients – six from Kashmir and five from Jammu division — died in the past 24 hours.

The officials also said that 2,880 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged from various hospitals; this includes 1884 from Kashmir and 996 from Jammu division.

Meanwhile, the officials said there were 11 confirmed cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) in Jammu and Kashmir and one fresh case was reported since last evening.

According to the daily media bulletin on novel Coronavirus (Covid-19), out of 3,02,651 positive cases cumulatively recorded  this far, currently there are 21,817 are active positive cases across Jammu and Kashmir, while cumulatively 2,76,733 persons have recovered and 4,101 have died — 2108 in Kashmir and 1993 in Jammu division.

The bulletin further said that out of 89,32,882 test results available, 86,30,231 samples have tested negative till June 08, 2021.

Till date 21,80,670 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 81,496 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by the government, 21,817 in isolation and 1,45,660 in home surveillance while 19,27,596 persons have completed their surveillance period, the bulletin informed.
