124-year-old woman, 94-year-old man administered COVID-19 vaccine in Baramulla

Baramulla: A 124-year-old woman and 94-year-old man from Kreeri Baramulla were among over 4,209 people in Baramulla district who were administered the COVID-19 vaccine on Thursday in the district.

A health official who was part of the door to door vaccination campaign said, “Our door-to-door vaccination campaign has been going on for about two weeks now. Today, we vaccinated a 124-year-old woman and 94-year-old man.”

A total of 4,209 persons, including healthcare and frontline workers, were vaccinated against the COVID-19 across the district on Wednesday, he said, adding so far 2, 95000 jabs have being administered in Baramulla district.

124-year-old Rehtee Begum, a resident of Kraal Mohalla Shrakwara Block Wagoora and 94-year-old Ghulam Mohammad Bhat of Allpora, Kreeri in Baramulla district got their first jab of Covid-19 vaccine as part of the door to door vaccination campaign, the officials informed.

Medical Officer at Primary Health Care (PHC) Shrakwara Dr Tajamul Malik who led the vaccination team said, “If a 124-year-old woman and a 94-year-old man can get vaccinated, then the entire nation should too. The only way to save yourself from the pandemic is to get vaccinated, and do not believe in rumours.”
