Forces foil suicide bid by woman at Badshah bridge

Srinagar: Police and paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel on Monday foiled the suicide bid by a woman as she attempted to jump from the Srinagar’s Budshah Bridge.

A video of the incident has also gone viral on social media platforms, showing some cops and CRPF men rescuing the woman as she tried to jump into the River Jhelum from the bridge.

Meanwhile, PRO CRPF in a statement said that a woman tried to commit suicide by jumping from Budshah Bridge at Jehangir Chowk in Srinagar today at around 10:45 AM.

He said that Sub Inspector Mohan Lal of 132 Bn CRPF, who was deployed at the bridge, quickly responded and prevented the lady from causing any harm to herself.

Joined by his colleagues and police personnel, the CRPF officer removed the woman from the bridge and handed her over to the police, the PRO said.
