Srinagar: Two civilians were killed in firing by militants on Saturday in Anantnag district of south Kashmir, police said.
A police official said that two civilians were injured after they were fired upon by suspected militants in Jablipora are of Bijbehara in Anantnag district.
He said that both the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, where they succumbed to their injuries.
He identified the deceased as Sanjeed Ahmad Parry (19), son of Abdul Azeem Parrey, and Shaan Bhat (35), son of Ghulam Qadir Bhat, both residents of Jablipora.
The official said that the area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.
