SMC Corporators call off strike after assurances of enquiry by Div Com

Srinagar: The Srinagar Municipal Corporators on Saturday called off their strike after Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, P K Pole assured that an enquiry will be conducted within seven days.

SMC corporators led by Mayor Junaid Azim Mattu were on hunger strike since Thursday inside the corporation premises, seeking an action against the Joint Commissioner (Planning).

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Divisional Commissioner visited the protesting corporators at SMC and assured them that an enquiry will be conducted within seven days.

Sources informed that after assuring the protesting corporators of enquiry, Pole later met SMC Commissioner Athar Amir at his office. (KNO)
