30 new COVID-19 deaths, 3,532 fresh cases reported in J&K

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Friday reported 3,532 new COVID-19 cases while 30 persons succumbed to the infection during past 24 hours.

The fresh cases comprise 2,360 in Kashmir division and 1,172 in Jammu, government data revealed.

As for the 30 fresh fatalities, 17 of them were reported in Jammu and 13 in Kashmir, taking the overall death toll in J&K to 2,283 – 1,394 in Kashmir and 889 in Jammu.

As on Friday, there are a total of 28,359 active cases in J&K — 17,699 in Kashmir and 10,660 in Jammu, the official data revealed.

Moreover, 1287 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged from various hospitals including 977 from Kashmir and 310 from Jammu division.

Officials said that since the beginning of the pandemic last year, so far 176083 positive cases have been detected in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the daily bulletin on novel Covid-19, out of 176083 positive cases, 28359 are active positive, 145441 have recovered and 2283 have died.

It also informed that till date 1807565 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 95113 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 28359 in isolation and 1560440 in home surveillance. Besides, 1560440 persons have completed their surveillance period.
