Uri: A motorcyclist from Panipat Haryana was drowned to death after his motorcycle skidded off the road and fell into a water reservoir of LJHP in Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday.

Witnesses said that a biker drowned after his motorcycle (HR26DU-1782) skidded off the road and fell into the water reservoir (dam) of Lower Jhelum Hydel Project at Chalan Boniyar. Even as the locals tried their level best but the biker could not be rescued.

Later, the body of the biker identified as Kashif Khan, son of Dilshad Khan of Panipat Haryana, was retrieved from the dam by a team of SDRF and police personnel.

SDPO Uri, Junaid Wali confirmed that the body has been retrieved after LJHP authorities stopped water flow into the dam.
