Four injured in Jammu grenade attack

Srinagar: Two civilians were injured after militants hurled a grenade towards a bunker of 96Bn of CRPF at Main Chowk Sangam area of Bijbehara which missed the target and exploded on road, a police report said. Two civilians got injured and were evacuated to nearby hospital for the treatment of their injuries, the report added.

Giving details, police confirmed that the incident took place at Sangam in Bijbehara area of the south Kashmir district, a police official said. The grenade exploded on the roadside, causing minor injuries to the two civilians, he said.

Immediately after the attack, security forces launched a hunt to nab the militants, the official said. A case has also been registered in this regard under relevant sections of law and investigation was in progress , police said.
