Police hold meetings with Bank Managers in Handwara, Budgam

Srinagar: In view of recent bank dacoit incidents and to avoid recurrence of such incidents, Police held meetings with the Managers of different banks falling in the jurisdiction of Police District Handwara, said a police spokesperson.

The meetings were held in the concerned Police Stations.

“The meetings were chaired by respective SHOs. During the meeting threadbare discussions were held with regard to the security of bank branches and all the bank managers were advised to install CCTV cameras and also devise a proper security plan to ensure that each bank branch should have proper security round the clock so that no such incident shall take place in future,” the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson further said: “All the participants have given assurance that the security of all bank branches shall be taken on priority and no loophole shall be left in it. The bank officials have been advised to liaise with the concerned police stations/units and seek help from the nearest police establishments in case of any emergency.”

Meanwhile, according to the spokesperson, SSP Budgam, Tahir Saleem-JKPS held meetings with the BDCs and Bank Managers of various Banks of District Budgam. “Later, he also reviewed the security scenario of the district.”

“During the meeting, the BDCs were apprised about the matters of public importance and were advised to keep close coordination with police for eradication of social evils and other matters of social & public importance,” the spokesperson said.

“While interacting with the bank managers, SSP Budgam briefed them to sensitise their clients about the menace of emerging online phishing/vishing. All the participants were assured of full cooperation from Police Budgam in their day-to-day affairs,” he said.

“Later, SSP Budgam also held meeting with SDPOs/SHOs/DOs of district Budgam to review the security scenario of the District. The officers were emphasized to work with zeal and professionalism while dealing with all aspects of policing.  It was stressed upon all the officers to enhance the police public relations and deal firmly with anti-national and anti social elements,” he added.
