Srinagar: Reacting to the resignation of senior political leader and party general secretary Imran Raza Ansari, People’s Conference chairman Sajad Gani Lone today said he appreciates the spirit behind the move to resign but can’t possibly accept it.
Lone clarified that resignation of Imran Ansari “is a magnanimous offer but has not been accepted”.
“There is no move for the office-bearers to resign. We appreciate the spirit behind the move to resign but can’t possibly accept it,” he said.
On being asked about re-organising the party structure, he said, “We will certainly go for an organisational revamp and redefine organisational hierarchical structures but that is a long-term objective and again entails broadening scope of contribution not constricting it.”
