Mega Legal awareness cum Services camp held at Ganderbal

GANDERBAL: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Ganderbal today organised Mega Legal awareness cum Services camp at Mammer Kangan, here under the directions of Executive Chairman Jammu & Kashmir Legal Services Authority, Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey, who is also the Judge of High Court of Jammu & Kashmir.

The camp was organised with the objective of making people in general and poor and weaker sections of the society in particular aware of their entitlements under various enactments and welfare schemes in compliance to the constitutional mandate of ‘Access to Justice for all’.

The event was held with the active cooperation of the District Administration and Police.

The Executive Chairman Jammu & Kashmir Legal Services Authority and Jammu & Kashmir High Court Judge, Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey inaugurated the Camp.

As many as 40 stalls installed by different departments, NGOs and establishments disseminated necessary and useful information besides services rendered to the marginalized people.

Ayushman Bharat Golden Cards, Job Cards, Registration Certificates, hearing Aids, Wheel Chairs, Uniforms, Books, School Bags, Mulberry plants, Forest Saplings, Chaff-cutters, Trout Farm Construction Work orders etc were distributed among the eligible beneficiaries by the respective departments.

While speaking on the occasion, Justice Magrey stressed for making every endeavor and effort to make availability of ‘Justice for all’ a reality as per the mandate of the constitution.

He urged all the public authorities and semi-govt registered institutions to connect the marginalized and targeted sections of the society living below the line of poverty with different social welfare and poverty alleviation schemes of the central and UT govt as well as different banks and financial institutions.

The Executive Chairman said that access to justice is important for ensuring the protection of rights of the citizens under various enactments and Social welfare schemes. He expected that all the public officers and public servants need to be on 24 hours service to the society.

Later, Justice Magrey also inaugurated the plantation drive undertaken by Sindh Forest Division.

Chairman DLSA (Principal District & Sessions Judge) Ganderbal, Mohammad Yousuf Wani gave the brief resume of the services in providing free legal aid to the poor and the weaker sections of the society. He also gave the figures of the beneficiaries who have been connected with different welfare schemes of the government during the last 10 days in connection with the holding of Mega legal services camp.

While speaking on the occasion, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal gave the resume of the different developmental and poverty alleviation works undertaken in the district. He said that the district administration is at the service of the public round the clock.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Farooq Ahmad  Bhat, Secretary  District Legal services Authority Ganderbal Tabassum,  Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committee Kangan Kartar Singh,  Sr. Superintendent  of Police Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal, Additional Deputy Commissioner  Ganderbal,  Farooq Ahmad Baba, Additional Superintendent of police Firoz Yahya, District Information Officer R.A Fazilee, Executive Engineer R&B Division Ganderbal Zaffer Qureshi  and all the District / Sectoral  Officers were present on the occasion.
