Srinagar: A young Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) officer died of cardiac arrest in Udhampur, Friday.

Sajad Bashir Somberia, who was posted as District Information Officer (DIO) Udhampur, suffered a massive heart attack at his residence, and was rushed to the district hospital where doctors were unable to revive him, his colleagues said.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed grief over his demise. In his condolence message, the Lt Governor expressed sympathy with the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.

Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam and Advisor to LG, Baseer Ahmad Khan too have expressed grief over the sad demise of young officer and expressed condolences with the bereaved family.

Director Information and Public Relations, Rahul Pandey along with the employees of the department also condoled the demise of Sajad Bashir Somberia.

A condolence meet was chaired by Director Information in Jammu in which all the officers and employees of DIPR participated. The officers and employees expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise of young officer, a statement said.

The officers and employees also offered their deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and courage for the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
