Addressing a press conference here, Pak women who along with their Kashmiri spouses had arrived in Kashmir via Nepal border eleven years ago said the government of India has never accepted them as Indian citizens till date.

They said the future of their children stands ruined as the promises made by the government at the time of their arrival in Kashmir are yet to be adopted on ground.

They alleged that police during their protest last month fired tear smoke shells and charged batons on them for raising their voice.

“We may not hold protest or address media anymore as we have lost our faith from the government, our stand vindicated the day administration invalidated nomination of a DDC candidate, Sadaf who actually is a Pak resident and also claimed that we are illegal immigrants,” they said.

“Why we should stay here, we are protesting for our rights for the last eleven years but no concrete measures were taken to address our problems. We live a nomadic life in Kashmir, hence we have decided to leave at any cost,” they added.
