JAMMU: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan, has extended his greetings and best wishes to all the women on the eve of International Women’s Day.

While extending his congratulations, the Advisor said that International Women’s Day marks an annual celebration that highlights the economic, political and social achievements of women around the world.

He said that International Women’s Day is the story of ordinary women as makers of history and we all must acknowledge and respect the sacrifices of the women that they put in the development and progress of the whole country.

He further added that it is time for the entire society of Jammu and Kashmir to reflect on progress made and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in creating a peaceful and prosperous society.

He impressed upon the people of Jammu and Kashmir to strive to ensure equality of opportunity for every woman and every girl child in furthering women empowerment.
