Srinagar: Police in Srinagar claimed to have solved a theft case by arresting an accused person and recovering stolen goods from his possession.
Giving details, a police spokesperson said that on February 24, one Ishfaq Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Ahmad Bhat of Firdousabad Batmaloo, complained that a large number of tyres were missing from his warehouse at Diyarwani Batmaloo. The complainant suspected one of his salesmen as being involved in the theft.
A case was registered, and during investigations, the said salesman was questioned, who confessed his involvement in the theft. The salesman was subsequently arrested, and on his disclosure police recovered 42 tyres of different vehicles from Kanihama Budgam, the spokesperson informed.
