Addressing on the occasion, Sagar said that the sincerity, conviction, perseverance and idealism, formed the template of Nazir Sahib’s personal life and politics.

An institution unto himself, Sagar said, “Sheikh Nazir Sahib never compromised on his ideals.”

He said that the late leader was brought up in the mould of Sher-e-Kashmir’s ideology. “He was a pillar of strength for the party.  He was looked up to for inspiration by all of us in the party. The best tribute to him on his death anniversary would be by imbibing the zest with which he served the party. His doors were always open for the party workers. He was a “to-go-to” person for party workers; he was always concerned about the party’s grassroots level workers. Moreover, he belonged to the tribe of those great men and women who suffered immensely alongside Sher-e-Kashmir for the restoration of the rights of people of Jammu and Kashmir. On his death anniversary, I pay my earnest tributes to him. May Almighty grant him the highest stations in Jannah,” he said.

Later, Party President and Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah, who was in Jammu, reached Srinagar in the afternoon and straightway set out to offer floral tributes and and offered fateh.

On the occasion he said, “Uncompromising on his principles and beliefs, which he had inherited from Sher-e-Kashmir, and Madre Meharban, he was a strong spirited person. His matchless contribution towards strengthening the party will be remembered for all the times to come,” he said.

Earnest tributes and homage was paid to Sheikh Nazir Sahib at Party’s Jammu headquarter Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan, where Party’s Additional General Secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal led the party functionaries in paying glowing tributes to the party stalwart.
