Srinagar, Jan 19:  CPI (M) leader, Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami, has counseled the chairman of Peoples Conference (PC) Sajad Gani Lone, to revisit his decision of quitting Peoples’ Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) terming his decision as ‘unfortunate’.

In a statement issued here to KNS, Tarigami said that “This is very sad and unfortunate. The situation as it persists demands more unified efforts, there can be some degree of disagreement but legitimacy of the various basis structure over which all had pledged to be together should not have been compromised.”

While admitting that there could be some sort of lacunas in the alliance as it was formed hurridly, Tarimagi termed the decision of PC as ‘hasty’.  “There can be lacunae’s. Everything happened hurriedly. When DDC elections happened, we were in Jammu to meet civil society members, Political leaders to chalk out strategy for moving forward. The concerns of PC about proxy candidates can be true but we had decided to achieve our goal together. It should have been preferred,” Tarigami added.

Tarigami, who is also a member of PAGD, while counseling Lone to rethink over his decision also asked Farooq Abdullah to take a comprehensive view of all the concerns expressed by PC so that the they stand united for the larger goal.
