Srinagar: Kashmir Editors Guild (KEG) expresses grief over the demise of veteran Journalist and Editor Ghulam Nabi Shaida. Shaida was the Owner, Printer and Publisher of Urdu daily ‘Wadi ki Awaaz’.

Shaida Sahab who was not keeping in good health for some time breathed his last at his Srinagar residence during the night.

He was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Goripora village of Pulwama district.

Ghulam Nabi Shaida was a fearless and an upright Journalist who would always be unbiased in his work as a journalist.

Shaida sahib faced multiple challenges during his career as a journalist and he was even jailed for his work during the early eighties.

It was due to his tireless efforts that Shaida Sahab managed to carve out a niche for himself and his publication ‘Wadi Ki Awaaz’.

The death of the veteran editor is a huge loss for the institution of Journalism in Jammu and Kashmir.

Ghulam Nabi Shaida will always be remembered for upholding the values and ethics of Journalism amid the challenging situation.

KEG stands with the family of the deceased editor in this hour of grief.

Kashmir Images condoles demise of GN Shaida

Kashmir Images editorial board, management along with all other employees condole the sad demise of renowned journalist and Editor-in-Chief of Wadi-ki-Awaz, Ghulam Nabi Shaida who passed away last night after brief illness.

G N Shaida was a senior among the journalists of the valley and an able professional who devoted his life for upholding the tradition of true journalism.

Our deepest condolences are due to the bereaved family and our prayers for eternal peace to the departed soul.
