Srinagar: The district administration has constituted a committee to investigate the alleged medical negligence in the treatment of a 14-month-old girl by a private hospital in Srinagar.

The family of the girl, Zikra, hailing from Aali Kadal area of Srinagar, had alleged medical negligence by doctors at ASG Eye Hospital in Qamarwari, saying that an “overdose of anaesthesia had damaged brain” of their 14-year-old daughter.

Additional District Magistrate Srinagar has issued an order constituting a three-member committee chaired by Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Srinagar, reported news agency KNO.

Besides, a representative from the Ophthalmology department at SMHS Hospital, Srinagar will be its member and any other expert will be co-opted as member by CMO, Srinagar, the order reads.

The committee has been asked to submit its report to the office of the District Magistrate, Srinagar within a period of 15 days.
