Adbee Markaz Kamraz holds 40th annual conference

Baramulla: Adbee Markaz Kamraz (AMK) organised its 40th annual conference in Baramulla on the theme ‘National Educational Policy 2020 and Kashmir Language’. The conference was held at Dakbanglow Baramulla in which speakers urged for collective and sustained effort by all stake holders for promotion of Kashmiri language.

A large number of writers, poets, intellectuals, journalists, public administrators and civil society representatives attended the conference. The Vice Chancellor, Islamic University of Science and Technology, Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad Sidiqui was the chief while on the occasion while Prof. Zaman Azurda presided over the conference.  Eminent writer Wahshi Syed and Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr. G N Itoo, were the guests of honour.

Noted writer and researcher, Mushtaq Ahmad Mushtaq presented a research paper on ‘Kashmiri Language and National Education Policy 2020’ which was later discussed among the participants.

Patron of Adbee Markaz Kamraz, Dr. Aziz Hajni, addressed the conference telephonically, as he could be present at the occasion due to some health issues, and urged the gathering for proper implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 in Jammu and Kashmir.

While addressing the conference, Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad Sidiqui appreciated the efforts of organisation and said that the performance of AMK will be written in golden letters  for keeping  Kashmiri language and cultural values alive.

Prof. Muhammad Zaman Azarda highlighted the achievements of this literary federation and Wahshi Saeed, a well-known Urdu fiction writer, congratulated AMK for organizing such a wonderful conference in difficult weather and pandemic conditions.

On this occasion, famous writer and poet Fayyaz Telgami  was awarded “Sharaf Kamraz 2020”  while “Khilat Hanafi Sopore 2020” award was conferred to Shabir Ahmad Shabir and Deputy Commissioners Baramulla GN Itoo.

The conference paid homage to the founding members of the organisation, late Prof. Mashal Sultan Puri and late Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Ajar.

President of AMK Farooq Rafiabadi delivered the welcome address at the conference while the annual report was presented by Abdul Khaliq Shamash while Secretary AMK  Shabnam Telgami conducted the proceedings of the conference.

Among the speakers were Director North Campus Kashmir University Prof. Ajaz Ahmad Wani, famous writer and scholar Bashar Bashir, Prof Naseer Iqbal of Islamic University and other writers and poets from across valley.
