Srinagar: Police in Kulgam recovered a kidnapped girl and arrested the person involved in the commission of crime, a police spokesman said.
He said that Police Station Kulgam received a complaint from a person stating that his daughter was kidnapped by one individual identified as Suhail Ahmad Sheikh son of Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh resident of Nonmai Yaripora.
“Accordingly, a case FIR No. 232/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Kulgam and investigation was initiated,” said the spokesman.
He further said that during the course of investigation a team headed by SHO Kulgam was constituted. Acting on specific leads, the team was able to recover the kidnapped girl and arrest the accused person involved in the commission of crime.
“The arrested person has been shifted to PS Kulgam where he remains in custody and after fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl has been handed over to her legal heirs. Investigation into the matter is in progress,” said the spokesman.
