‘Employment deptt’s online counselling benefits 4202 candidates’

JAMMU: The Online Counselling of Jammu and Kashmir Employment Department has benefitted around 4202 candidates have been benefitted, reads a communiqué issued by DIPR-JK.

Around 436 e-counselling sessions were conducted across the UT of J&K in which 4202 candidates have been benefitted, an official handout states.

The online counseling was started by the department to help the students and unemployed youth to choose suitable career amid the challenges thrown up by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The department has started the service named “e-counselling- an electronic initiative to reach the students and unemployed youth of the UT” through different platforms.

Highly qualified Career Counselling Officers and Employment Officers imparted e-counselling about various career aspects and the importance and relevance of choosing the right career at the right time. The sessions include detailed information of different career options after 10th, 12th and graduation, the competitive examinations to get jobs in different sectors and stress management especially during pandemic like COVID.

The psychometric testing of interested candidates is also being done in order to help them select their right career path based on their interests, mental expertise and personality traits reflected in the test. Besides this, the department also facilitates the candidates to get them registered in National Career Service portal.
