‘300 passengers stuck at Zojila Pass rescued’

Srinagar: Border Roads Organization (BRO) Beacon and police rescued 300 passengers and 106 vehicles that were stuck at Zojila Pass due to the slippery road conditions on the intervening night of 31 December.

Border Roads Organization, Task Force Commander, Col Kaushik talking to Kashmir Images said that around 106 vehicles were stranded yesterday due to slides on Zojila pass.

“BRO persons alongwith the police worked entire night in freezing temperatures and snow blizzards and extricated them to Minamarg,” said Col. Kaushik.

He further said as soon as the information was received about vehicles and passengers which were stuck on Zojila, immediately a rescue operation was launched by BRO Task Force along with other machinery and workers to rescue the passengers safely.

” After hectic efforts BRO Beacon and police rescued all the passengers and vehicles safely which were trapped on Zojila Pass”, he said
