Sales Tax Deptt directs traders in Pattan to ensure GST compliance

Pattan: State Taxes Officer Enforcement Wing (North) Kashmir, Aijaz Hussain Malik today visited Pattan market as a part of public outreach programme.

Malik was directed by Deputy Commissioner Enforcement Wing (North) Kashmir, Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari (KAS) to interact with the traders and create awareness regarding GST.

On the occasion, the Traders were informed about various aspects of the registration process under GST and were requested to bring to the notice of the concerned authorities any issue they might face during registration.

Aijaz Hussain Malik impressed upon the traders to ensure compliance with tax laws and allayed their fears by sharing all requisite information. The traders expressed their gratitude and appreciated the officer for reaching out to them.

STO enforcement appealed traders to ensure generation of proper tax invoices and apply for generation of GSTIN incase their turn over is exceeding the threshold limit.

It is pertinent to mention here that around 150 E-Way bills were also verified during the visit.

SI Mohd Iqbal and Mehraj Ahmed and other officials of the department were also accompanying the team.
