Srinagar: Two drug peddlers were arrested and contraband substance recovered from their possession in Srinagar, a Police spokesman said.
The spokesman said that Police from Police Station Shaheedgunj intercepted two persons during daily routine checking of vehicles at Jehlum Market Batmaloo and during checking, Police recovered 13 grams of Heroin like substance from their possession.
The arrested persons were identified as Waseem Bashir Sheikh son of Bashir Ahmad Sheikh resident of Palapora Noorbagh, Srinagar and Fayaz Ahmad Sofi son of Bashir Ahmad Sofi resident of Hamdania Colony Bemina, Srinagar. They have been arrested and shifted to PS Shaheedgunj where they remain in custody, said the spokesman.
He further said that a case vide FIR No. 156/2020 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Shaheedgunj and further investigation has been initiated.
